Vanessa Elias de Oliveira holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of São Paulo. She is Associate Professor of Political Science in Public Policy at the Federal University of ABC (UFABC). She was Visiting Professor at the University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany. She coordinates the Research Consortium "Crises and Local Power." She is a CNPq Research Fellow and was one of the founders of the Brazilian Network of Women Scientists. She is the coordinator of the Public Policy Research Program at Fapesp and the current President of the Brazilian Association of Political Science (ABCP).
