Bidding Process for IPSA World Congresses of Political Science
Cities interested in hosting the IPSA World Congress of Political Science will be asked to respond to a specially prepared Request for Proposal (RFP) taking into account the requirements necessary for ensuring a successful event. The application must be submitted by an IPSA Collective member (National Association of Political Science) or by another body recognized by IPSA as an appropriate host organization. View the list of IPSA Collective members. A Convention and Visitor Bureau (CVB) or another Destination Management Organization can support our members in preparing their bids. A Bid Committee (BEC) will review each bid in detail, and a shortlist of candidates will be produced. Each short-listed city will receive a site visit/inspection. The Bid Committee will present a report to the IPSA Executive Committee (EC), featuring the results of the site visits. The 2027 host city will be selected by the IPSA Executive Committee based on the recommendation of the Bid Committee and announced on late 2024.
Next bidding period will open in late 2025 for the 2029 IPSA World Congress of Political Science. There is no rule regarding regional rotation, however the tradition is for two congresses to pass before a continent is eligible again.
