The participants of the panel will try to answer the following questions:
• How does a country’s geographical position influence its political and socio-economic development nowadays?
• Whether and how this interrelation has evolved through times?
• What can modern theory contribute to analyzing the linkage between geography, on the one hand, and politics and economy, on the other hand?
• To what extent is the ‘classical’ globalist–anti-globalist dichotomy able to explain the ongoing political, economic and social processes?
• Do the modern geography, political science and economics offer clear answers to our questions and, if not, in which directions they should evolve and develop?
