: The panel is interested in case studies dealing with the influence of recent military action between nation states or a nation state and other “political” or “military entities on migration. Of interest is whether and/or how armed conflict and military violence affects the migration of one or more ethnic/national groups within a nation state. Does the military induced violence encourage out migration of an ethnic group or minority? The panel invites case studies -contemporary and historical- of military actions (“wars”) involving/affecting minorities within a national state. Of particular interest are case studies in the Middle East, Africa, Europe and Asia. The panel welcomes analysis based on diverse methods and approaches.
