Las Villas o 18 de Mayo. Aproximación sociopolítica y urbanística a una ciudad en construcción.

Socio-political study about identity patterns on a small an poor population located on the outskirts of Montevideo (Uruguay's capital). Through a qualitative methodology technique, and based on a field work in the terrain (Las Villas), the book describes how the living conditions (objectives and subjectives),impact on two identity categories: optimist o skeptical according to the degree of individual or collective political participation. In that sense, it demonstrates how Political Participation, Identity and Living conditions, influence each other in a context of poverty and exclusion.
