Job Description

The School of Finance, Economics, and Government at Universidad EAFIT in Medellin, Colombia, is seeking applications for three Open Rank (Tenure or Tenure Track) positions in political science, public policy, and social data analytics. These positions are set to begin in the second semester of 2024.

We are looking for candidates whose research significantly contributes to the areas of politics, public policy, gender, collective action, public policy, and political science through contemporary and innovative methodological approaches. The ideal candidates should be capable of enhancing our undergraduate and graduate programs by integrating substantive topics with data analysis and mixed methods. Faculty members at Universidad EAFIT receive strong research support, with additional release time for junior positions.

Candidates for Assistant Professor must have demonstrated ability as a teacher, scholar, and researcher in a discipline pertinent to the position they are applying for. Responsibilities will include instruction, scholarly research, and community or institutional service tailored to the applicant's experience and qualifications.

Candidates for Associate Professor must have demonstrated excellence as a teacher, scholar, and researcher in a discipline pertinent to the position they are applying for and have an established reputation in scholarly or professional achievement. Responsibilities will include a combination of teaching, research, and service based on the candidate’s qualifications.
A detailed description of the three positions is below.

Candidates for all ranks should have a publication record in high-quality venues and demonstrate the potential for external funding. Additionally, successful candidates must either have demonstrated a commitment to building an inclusive, equitable, and diverse campus community or describe one or more ways they would envision doing so given the opportunity.

Application review will begin on 15 July 2024, and continue until the position is filled.
