Among the new publications is, most importantly, the major output of our latest collaborative project, entitled "EU policies in times of crisis: Mechanisms of change and varieties of outcomes". Based on a joint analytical framework, all EIF researchers and a number of renowned international colleagues contributed in developing a theory how and when crisis may induce policy breakthrough as opposed to stalemate. The team compared the effects of the recent financial, economic and neighbourhood crises on the EU’s main policy domains, including financial market integration, trade, health, migration, research, energy, foreign and state aid policies.
