118th IPSA Executive Committee Meeting in Istanbul

The IPSA Executive Committee (EC) held its latest meeting in Istanbul, Turkey on May 9 and 10, 2015. EC meetings are meant gauge where IPSA, its members and the IPSA Secretariat stand on a variety of issues and projects.
- For example, at the request of the journal’s editors, the EC agreed to publish an expanded edition of the International Political Science Review (IPSR); future issues will therefore feature 144 pages, up from 120 pages, a 20% increase in volume.
- Two new summer schools have been added to the calendar: the first, in 2016, will be held at the Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales (FLACSO) in Mexico City, while the second will be held in South Africa. Dates are yet to be determined.
- The EC also approved the nomination of Andréa Cestaro as Executive Director of IPSA. Ms. Cestaro previously served as IPSA’s chief administrator, and the Executive Committee wishes her the best of luck in her new position.
- The EC was also apprized of the latest preparations for the 2016 World Congress of Political Science in Istanbul, which are well underway.
EC meetings are an opportunity to discuss upcoming IPSA events and publications. The next EC meeting will be held in Mexico from December 9 to 11, 2015.
