International Idea Updates and Expands Its Electoral Justice Database
Publication date: Wed, 10 Dec 2014
Revised database guides stakeholders on electoral dispute resolution mechanisms.
The International IDEA Electoral Justice database now offers more targeted comparative data on electoral dispute resolution mechanisms in more than 170 countries. The information is divided into four specific sections:
1. Challenges to election results.
2. Challenges to political party/candidate registration or nominations.
3. Challenges to campaign financing.
4. Election-related criminal offences.
Free, fair and credible elections require the adoption of efficient and transparent electoral dispute resolution mechanisms explicitly set out in legislation.
Learn more about the changes to the database and read the related Electoral Justice: The International IDEA Handbook for insights on research.
