Description

The objective of this research is to examine the election manifestos of prominent political parties in India over several electoral cycles. The goal is to evaluate how well political parties have kept their promises throughout time in terms of consistency, development, and fulfillment. The study will use a cross-longitudinal methodology to examine the promises made across time, find trends in the promises, and assess how well they were carried out.

Important Research Questions:

How do the election manifestos of India's leading political parties change over the course of many elections cycles?
Which topics and themes recur often in manifestos, and how do they evolve over time?
What is the success or failure rate of the promises stated in these manifestos, and what are the contributing factors?
What legal safeguards are in place or may be put forward to guarantee more transparency and the sustainability of campaign promises?
