This dynamic, interactive café session is designed for doctoral students, postdoctoral researchers, and early-career scholars eager to master the intricacies of publishing in peer-reviewed academic journals. This round table discussion explores three interconnected aspects of successful academic publishing: strategic article framing, informed journal selection, and navigating common pitfalls. We will examine how effectively situating research within existing literature and tailoring presentations to specific journal audiences can significantly enhance a manuscript's impact and acceptance prospects. The discussion will also cover the nuances of selecting appropriate target journals, considering factors such as scope, readership, and co-authorship dynamics. Finally, we will address frequent causes of desk rejections and strategies for maintaining momentum through revisions and resubmissions. By integrating these elements, we aim to provide early-career researchers with a comprehensive framework for maximizing their publication success and scholarly impact across the entire publication journey. Contributors will answer the following questions:
●    How can authors effectively tailor their articles to fit the scope and style of your respective journals?
●    What advice would you give to early-career researchers looking to publish their first paper?
●    What are the most common mistakes you see in manuscript submissions that lead to desk rejections?
●    How has the landscape of academic publishing changed in recent years, and how can authors adapt to these changes?
