Presented in collaboration with the Wikimedia Foundation, this webinar will explore a model for safeguarding the provenance of scientific information online. We will discuss the Wikipedia model, including the benefits and challenges of this relative to other models for digital platforms. Of particular interest will be the steps the platform has taken – and plans to take- to safeguard the integrity of its content and managing its global community of editors. We will also discuss the lessons that science communication and internet governance can take from the Wikipedia story.
