Publication date: Mon, 17 Oct 2022
The IPSA Research Committees on Asian and Pacific Studies (RC18) and Politics and Business (RC38) jointly organized a virtual conference on business and development in Asia and the Pacific on 17-18 October 2022. The event, entitled International Business, National Policy: Unpacking Business and Development in Asia and The Pacific, addressed various topics related to the role of corporations in the development of local communities.
IPSA President Dianne Pinderhughes addressed the delegates at the opening ceremony on 17 October and congratulated Dr. Angelin Chang, chair of RC18, and Dr. Nayara Albrecht, chair of RC38, for co-organizing this conference. Dr. Pinderhughes also highlighted IPSA’s support of this conference through the RC funding program and the IPSA Digital service.
The IPSA Digital service was launched in March 2021 in the wake of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting sanitary restrictions put in place worldwide which effectively caused the cancellation of in-person events. The aim of this service is to allow IPSA members and Research Committees to hold meetings and conferences in a virtual form, with the help and technical assistance of IPSA’s professional staff.
