IPSA at the 2025 ISA Convention in Chicago

IPSA was present at the International Studies Association’s (ISA) 2025 Annual Convention in Chicago from 2-5 March 2025.

IPSA Past President Dianne Pinderhughes chaired the panel titled Issues of Democratic Participation: Elections and Governance Across World Geographic Regions on 3 March, while IPSA Past President Marianne Kneuer took part in the panel of experts brought together to examine electoral participation and outcomes across various world regions. In light of an unprecedented number of national elections taking place in 2024 – including in South Africa, India, the USA, the UK, Mexico, Ghana, Mozambique, Senegal, Brazil, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Iran, Pakistan, Taiwan, Croatia, and Italy – the discussion explored regional trends, voter engagement, and the acceptance or contestation of election results.
