The devastating impacts of climate change can result in unquantifiable losses and damages, particularly for many communities and countries in the Global South including loss of lives and livelihoods, as well as degradation of territory, farmland, cultural heritage, indigenous knowledge, societal and cultural identity, biodiversity. Non-economic losses and damages linked with Human Mobility including planned relocation, displacement and migration is an emerging research area that deserves attention. This panel will explore the interconnections between economic and non-economic losses; indirect impacts incurred in areas of origin and destination and locally-specific case studies from around the world providing useful examples of good practices or challenges in addressing NELD in the context of climate mobility.
