Some main geopolitical events of the 21 century have shown us the centrality of borders as tools to manage and spread politics and policies in complex contexts. The pandemic of COVID19 or the Ukraine war have reshaped border features, not only in an immediate context, but also in a mor interconnected world. Borders and borderlands present different dimensions, ranging from security policies dispositives to places of re-making transborder cooperation solidarities and borderland communities. The aim of this panel is to discuss the resilience of borders in the contemporary world, its features and paradoxical imaginations and their dimensions as sociopolitical markers.
